From this page, you will be able to enter into the SACG™ Strategic collaboration process that we hope will help translate astronomy knowledge and skills, with the guidance of development partners, into positive outcomes for society. Whether you are from the astronomy partner, business partners or development communities, we hope you will find a way to get involved in a simple yet meaningful way.

Look at the flowchart above: start by browsing potential collaboration opportunities if you are from astronomy community, development partner, business partners. You then have two options: either initiate or engage in a collaboration. SACG sponsor project, SACG Endorsed Project or SACG projects; Astronomical infrastructure ; small business support; astronomy education & skills transfer or even something completely different

Definition of the Astronomy Community:

This includes anyone with knowledge and skills in astronomy, such as researchers, students, astrophotographers, education specialists, outreach professionals, astronomy enthusiasts, and more.

Definition of the Development Community:

This refers to individuals involved in development activities or those with a strong understanding of development needs in specific communities or non-astronomical fields. This includes non-profit organizations, social enterprises, community leaders, volunteers, and others.

Section 1

Astronomical Infrastructure
Astronomical infrastructure includes observatories, telescopes, and the data and software used to analyze astronomical observations

Section 2

Education & Skills
Astronomy skills can be meaningfully applied to contribute to the development of individuals across various fields. This could include training in astrophotography (imaging systems, workshops), educating tour guides to enhance and support dark skies tourism, or providing educational support.

Section 3

Astrotourism Support
Astrotourism could benefit from the support of the astronomy community in various ways, including hardware and software product development, as well as consultancy services and support.

INITIATE SECTION

Section 1

SACG Sponsored Projects
These projects are located in, or serve the Southeast Asia region and align strongly with the SACG Strategic Plan and values. However, they are being implemented by institutions other than the SACG and do not receive financial or staff support from the SACG. To receive SACG endorsement, these projects must request approval and be vetted by our office to ensure proper alignment. Once endorsed, the project agrees to provide updates on project-related activities as requested by the SACG.For SACG Endorsed Projects, the SACG will provide:

  1. Recognition on the SACG website
  2. Access to our network for promoting project activities
  3. Guidance on meeting evaluation and reporting requirements, as needed.

Once endorsed, the project agrees to provide updates on project-related activities as requested by the SACG.For SACG Endorsed Projects, the SACG will provide:

  1. Recognition on the SACG website
  2. Access to our network for promoting project activities
  3. Project design and implementation expertise
  4. Identification and securing of the necessary resources to support the project, including, but not limited to, staff time, fund development, financial management services, and project consulting.
